WEEKLY OUTLINE

March 23 - 27

Hello Grade 5 families,

Click HERE my plans for the week.

For the next two weeks, we will be continuing our Grade 5 journey online.  Each week I will post on my teacher website and will email you a list of resources that our Grade 5 team has assembled based on curriculum.  For the next 2 weeks we will be focusing on reviewing prior concepts and reinforcing skills with fun, engaging and varied activities that are easy to implement at home.  In two weeks after the Government has re-assessed the situation, we will have more information in terms of a plan for the rest of the year and will communicate with you at that time.

I have shared a Google Folder with your student that includes the lesson plans for the week as well as folders for each subject.  They can log into their Google Drive, access the folder under “Shared with Me” and will be able to collect resources from there.

I am here for you every day from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. if you should have any questions.

Teachers have worked really hard to put together a huge variety of activities, games, articles, educational videos and learning challenges.  There is something to keep every learner engaged! Although there are activities to do for each subject for each day, these are recommendations from our teaching team.  I understand that many of you are working from home as well and I appreciate the delicate balance we are all undertaking. Some days you may get more Math done than others and some days students may be on a roll with French songs.  There is always room for flexibility and there is no expectation that everything will get done!

I also recognize the value in getting outside and learning outdoors and the importance of movement in our lives.  Going on a hike can be a valuable classroom too!

Feel free to reach out if I can help in any way!

Yours in health and learning,

Meaghan McCann
